MANILA – Tropical cyclone wind signal no. 4 was raised over Catanduanes province Saturday night as Typhoon Uwan further intensified and moved closer to the Bicol Region, state weather bureau PAGASA said.
The eye of the tropical cyclone, may pass close to Catanduanes and make landfall over Aurora province Sunday night evening or Monday early morning, PAGASA said, adding that Uwan may move further south that may result in a direct hit or a landfall over Catanduanes.
Uwan is forecast to rapidly intensify and may reach super typhoon category Sunday, according to the state weather bureau. Signal no. 5 will be the highest wind warning, with possible catastrophic impacts.
Signal no. 3 was raised in:
Aurora, northern and eastern Quezon (Pitogo, San Andres, Buenavista, San Francisco, Calauag, Infanta, Lopez, Catanauan, Mulanay, Guinayangan, Unisan, General Luna, Plaridel, Quezon, Alabat, Sampaloc, Macalelon, Mauban, General Nakar, Perez, Agdangan, Gumaca, Atimonan, Real, San Narciso, Tagkawayan) including Polillo Islands, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Albay, northern and eastern Sorsogon (City of Sorsogon, Barcelona, Bulusan, Pilar, Castilla, Gubat, Casiguran, Donsol, Prieto Diaz); eastern portion of Northern Samar (Palapag, Mapanas, Laoang, Gamay, Catubig, Pambujan, Biri)
