From action-focused shōnen titles like Naruto to contemporary dramas like Oshi no Ko, the classic “revenge quest” is featured in many popular anime works. Recently, International streaming giant Crunchyroll unveiled the top 10 quintessential “revenge anime” for die-hard fans.
Crunchyroll’s definitive list of top-tier revenge anime includes numerous variations of the popular trope, such as stories of “good people turned bad” and “innocent heroes becoming overpowered anti-heroes.” While many of the site’s picks fall into the action genre, sci-fi, romantic comedy, horror and even semi-historical drama are also included in the mix. The selection’s time frame is also fairly broad, with Crunchyroll winding back the clock to include anime released as early as 2004. The complete list is available below.
